I like watching films and shows that are filmed in places where I've lived or visited. Shows like the X-Files, Superman, the Outer Limits and the new (new) Twilight Zone are a little more interesting now that I can spot landmarks in Vancouver. (I have a love/hate relationship with many productions shot in Philadelphia or New York. Don't even get me started on Rocky...)
Tonight, the Twilight Zone had a story about a man who gets a chance to spend life in Paradise -- a wooded wonderland. (No spoilers here; this was disclosed as part of the teaser commercials.) Part of the story takes place on a tree-lined road that could be a parkway anywhere. At one point, the camera pans back, and you see more than the trees, grass and cars on the roadway, and get a glimpse of a skyline in the distance.
Yes, this one-way tree-lined road is in Stanley Park.
And Stanley Park is the Gateway to Paradise, in the Twilight Zone. :-)
