The results of the fifth ICFP contest are now available. There were two divisions: lightning and normal. Python was the most popular language in the lightning division, with 3 of the 10 entries. The other languages used were: Perl, C, C++, Delphi, Mercury, OCaml and Haskell.

In the normal division, there were 159 entries, with the language breakdown as follows:

   1 Ada
  20 C
  21 C++
   1 C++, Lisp
   4 Common Lisp
   1 Delphi
   1 Dylan
   2 Erlang
   1 Forth
   1 Gwydion Dylan
  10 Haskell
   1 Icon
  28 Java

Funny how more than half of the entries for the contest surrounding the International Conference for Functional Programming don't fit into the category of "functional" programming languages: Java, C, C++, Delphi, Python, and Perl. :-)
