Newsflash: Jakob Nielsen will be working with Macromedia to turn Flash from 99% Bad to > 1% good.
Macromedia's hopes for making Flash 99% good are clearly unrealistic.
Macromedia's has long said that usability was a minor problem concerning only a few people and that one shouldn't try to get in the way of a neater web just because of those few.
I don't want to go into kremlinology, but the fact that they would change (at long last) their previously radical view is interesting. Is it possible that they'd be trying to make time? Could they be afraid? If so, could it be of a clearly superior technology that's quickly gaining ground and the name of which includes letters "S", "V", and "G"?
