Verizon is planning on charging by the the megabyte for traffic on it's always-on data network. $35/10 MB/month sounds quite steep. At that cost, we're likely to see some small adoption of trivial notification apps. If it were $35/10GB/month, then we'd see some interesting disruptive effects of wireless networking.
Oh well. Maybe in a few years' time.
