What is that a dogfish shark? I think the question is relative size of the two creatures and how much do they interact?
I don't think a mako or great white is going to be swimming along the bottom too much to get snagged by an octopus.
However, this is really cool and should keep some marine biologists busy.

Depends on the octopus. If squids can get big, why can't octopuses?
