Delaware's national treasure[1], Dogfish Head now has a line of spirits.

The Brown Honey Rum isn't very aged, sorta harsh, but downright tasty.

1: Michael Jackson says Dogfish Head is "America's most interesting and adventurous small brewery."

yummy

I've been living in Delaware now for about six years or so, and I can tell you that my discovery of this hidden treasure here, has easily made my millennium.

Shelter Pale Ale, Raison D'Etre, 60/90-minute IPA, Indian Brown Ale, and Immort Ale have easily and handlily trumped any of the previous lagers and ales that had been my prior favorites.

I can't rave about these guys enough.

Keep your eyes out for Midas Touch, 120-minute IPA, and World Wide Stout. WWS is only about 21% ABV (in 12oz bottles no less).

One bottle is sufficient to take a programmer pissed off at his PHB's inability to manage projects, and turn him into a mellow programmer. Two bottles is enough to take that same pissed off programmer and make him happy to be alive. (Best followed with a hoppy chaser, like Hop Devel, anything from Rogue or the like.)

Oh, and next time you're in Philly, go hunting for a pint of Yards ESA from a hand pump. Fergie's is a good place to start. It's very nice in the bottle, but another thing entirely off of a hand pump. Much as I love Dogfish Head, Yards ESA (fresh, and from a beer engine) is my desert island beer. ;-)
