On the flight to OSCon, I took out my iBook and brushed up my slides. I noticed a few Windows laptops on the flight, mostly playing Solitare.
On the flight home from OSCon, I read through the dozens of open tabs in Safari to catch up on a week's worth of reading. I noticed a few Windows laptops on the flight, mostly playing Solitare.
In fact, when I see someone using Windows on a plane or a train, about half the time, it's used to play Solitare. It's been that way for a number of years. When I see someone using a *nix or a Mac laptop, they're almost always doing something, even if it's watching a DVD.
I wonder how many CPU hours are spent playing solitare on Windows in on an average day. It's almost as if Windows is marketed as a productivity tool, but in reality is a productivity reduction tool.
Conspiracy, or really smart business tactic? You be the judge.
