For those of us locked into the corporate world of Outlook, MS Office etc., there's usually not much choice but to use tools like cygwin.Re:Try Unix

That lock-in is often possible to get around. We're an MS network here, and yet I have linux - I can browse the network, use Exchange for email (via IMAP) and the address book (via LDAP), and I open and write Word documents with OpenOffice.
But I do know *all* about IT services giving you hassle if you switch. I tend to just ignore them though;-)
