Now that 17 credits worth of classes and the book is complete, intersession/vacation has granted me time to do fun little projects.
Recent discovery of Blender 3D has left me dabbling with in 3D worlds. I grew up playing with suites such as Infini-D and StrataVision 3D, so the interfaces and concepts aren't alien. My teen years involved various creative lusts, one of which was for 3D graphics. Blender has simple revived an old interest.
To continue that interest, I was watching a screensaver recently and thought to myself, "I wonder if anyone has made a Flickr screensaver." Yes, they have, and it's for Windows. I've decided to make one that's compatible with xscreensaver, plus I've got a few other ideas for eye candy. It'll give me some experience learning the Mesa 3D graphics library as well as other fun libraries such as libwww. My C has been getting rusty, anyway.
Another project is a Scheme interpreter written in Perl, but I'll get to that later. Right now I'm having fun spinning cubes in space :)
