I want to get a new MacBook Pro (15"). Since I am short I am thinking of all sorts of simple web projects everybody around me needs because darn it I want that MacBook Pro!

Why not a "regular" MacBook?
If I could do it over I'd definitely get the MacBook instead of the Pro... (I bought my Pro before the regular MacBook came out).
So not worth the extra ~$1000.

I don't agree. First of all I want the 15" screen. It comes with 1GB/RAM, DVD/RW, a real graphics card, full size keyboard + other stuff. I have a 12" iBook G4 and when I bought it I thought it would be good but really the screen is too small and the new MacBook only adds 1.3".Re:Update

The $1300 MacBook comes with dual layer DVD burner, 1GB ram and a full size keyboard too. The screen is much better than on the G4 iBooks. Do you have a lot of 30" monitors to hook up the 'book to? Otherwise the MacBook graphics card should be Just Fine.
If you'll just admit that you just want the backlit keyboard, then I'll leave you alone.;-)

You might be able to save a little money if you buy refurbished.
Also, keep in mind if you want to budget in AppleCare. I don't think I'd want a laptop without some kind of extended hardware coverage.
