I'm torn over whether or not to buy a virtually unavailable album of my favorite band from allofmp3. It's really just a compilation of their first two albums plus some bonus tracks. If I would've bought it when it came out it would've only cost $20. I've seen it on eBay for $70. If I can live without the liner notes and cover art, I can get the mp3s for about $2. I've read about allofmp3, and even if it's legal, is it right? Even if artists see any money from it, is it enough (I doubt it)? I (perhaps wrongly) figure that if I buy all three of Rank and File's regular albums, plus related lineups (Dils, Cowboy Nation), I may be able to morally justify the purchase in any case. Or if the album is ever re-released, I promise to buy a copy. I'm also still waiting for the re-release of Jon and the Nightriders "Live at the Whiskey" :-)
