We used to buy Pillsbury breadsticks but lately they've been hard to find at the grocery store, and unless they're on sale, they're kind of expensive anyway. But I thought "hey, I've got a bread machine...and breadsticks are just, well, bread!" So I started with a normal white bread recipe, but add extra butter and sugar, and throw in some cheese (parmesan, cheddar, etc.), olive oil and a tablespoon of this "garlic bread" spice (where the directions say to add something like three tablespoons to half a cup of butter, spread on bread, and toast, but I figured it'd be good for this also). Set the breadmaker on "dough", then when it's done kneading spread it out on a board and slice the dough into strips, which get folded and twisted, then bake for 15 minutes (~350ðF). Yummmmm. Serve w/olive oil and/or vinegar.
