When some musicians die, you hear about it right away, radio stations call for car headlights to be turned on, and their music gets played ad naseum that day. Others, you don't hear about until a month or so afterwards...
I'd always been meaning to see a Link Wray show, but I guess I'll have to wait for the tribute band now :-) I did once get to see Johnny Winter play Rumble, so I'll have to take that as a (pretty awesome) consolation. Link Wray may not have been the most publicly recognizable musician, but some pretty recognizable musicians were his fans and are paying tribute in their shows. And that's pretty awesome :-)
