Wildfire update

I was in the path of that middle thick plume of smoke in that picture linked from ziggy's journal. The air is alot better now that the Santa Ana winds have died down and the wind is blowing the other direction as per usual. The firefighters have at least have a chance to get something done now that the winds aren't blowing 40mph+ (~65kph+ to the rest of the world). It's cloudy and looks like rain, but the clouds aren't giving up much moisture here (maybe in the mountains?). VSarkiss is alot closer to where the fire is; I hope he and his family are breathing better today. In case you're looking for someone to (partially) blame for all this, read Jim Washburn's column next week. It's not online yet as of this post, but I read the hardcopy today (I'll try to remember to link to it when it's available).
