my speakeasy mug story

A few years ago, I received a plain brown box in the mail. It came from my ISP, Speakeasy, and contained a nice Speakeasy-branded mug. There was nothing else in the box, and no explanation as to why I'd been sent the mug. I logged into their IRC servers and asked about it. I found my logs of this conversation today while looking for something else:

I had a similar experience with Speakeasy. A box with mug, t-shirt (which I've never worn) and a mouse pad - no explanation. It was a nice mouse pad, too. Unfortunately, I accidentally left it at my last job.

I really enjoyed Speakeasy's service for the time I had it but it is hard to justify the cost. Plus, I worry about how things might change after the acquisition.
