At work, I have been given the opportunity to get some J2EE training and work on some Java projects. I am excited about this because I love to learn and I am very interested to see how Java development compares to Perl development. Yes, and of course, I am also excited because Java is great for the resume.
At the same time, I finally picked up Extreme Programming Explained and started wandering around http://c2.com/cgi/wiki. XP excites me. The more I read about it, the more I want to start implementing these ideas in my projects for Red Squirrel and at work. I can already see it affecting the way I approach my code.
