I took some time to read during my vacation. I've read a very interesting (and impartial) essay on the Balfour Declaration : something that really helps to understand what's going on in Palestine and how the Israel state has been constructed. -- I've also read Snorri Sturlurson's Edda. I've found "Gandalf" in a list of dwarf names. Guess what was the day-job of Tolkien ? -- And, at last, I've begun to read Malcolm Lowry's Under the Volcano.
