I actually implemented q/.../ strings in pugs (revision 1278); the simple form, without adverbs. Autrijus tricked me into it by giving me commiter rights! And while doing so, I fixed a bug on the parsing of '...\\'.
Pugs is fun to work on, even if you don't know Haskell, and I only know very tiny bits of Haskell. And Perl 6 is incredibly great. It's been a long time since I hadn't had such fun hacking and learning.
