Config butchery

Gee, there's an article on Advogato about porting UNIX software to OSX, where the author, among other tricks, says that the system-supplied Config.pm file should be modified, to avoid linker problems. I didn't get the details. Well, I'm usually opposed to Config.pm butchery, but uhm. -- for this time, I'll do nothing but waiting for the README.macosx file that has been promised in a recent P5P report...

Hm

That particular suggestion seems reasonable, because those symbol problems can be a pain in Mac OS X. I can't speak to if the value there is the right one.

I do have a hard time taking a source as authoritative, though, that spells "Unix" "UNIX" and "Mac OS X" "OS X". Call me crazy.
