I believe this behavior is the result of a plugin that can be deleted. Not being a fIREfox user myself, I'm not fully investigating it.

Good luck! And remember to update your fIREfox installation every week or two when new security patches appear!

Post 1.0 Firefoxes just put a bar up at the top of the screen. Do you have the latest version of Firefox?

There's probably a config option to disable the bar, too. If not, I'll bet there soon will be.

I, too, am deliberately using Firefox without Flash (and Java, for that matter). And about three weeks ago, I started using Adblock with Filterset.G .

Install the Flashblock extension, and you won't be bothered by Flash but can still activate it for pages where you want to see it.

JUST MOVE THE LIBNULLPLUGIN.SO FILE (LOOK FOR IT SOMEWHERE IN THE FIREFOX INSTALL TREE) OUT OF ITS FOLDER.

i installed the flash plugin then flashblock plugin. now i don't get that missing plugin bar anymore.
