I propose a new legal principle: if you plot a chart to illustrate a power law, but use a linear axis, you go to jail. You go to an especially nasty jail, where bars of soap are scattered liberally over the floors of the showers and the guards tell bedtime stories that are to Lovecraft as Lovecraft is to Black Beauty, if you use a bar chart with borders and lines extending accross the plot as if it had been victim to a gruesome rake attack.
