The Apache error log ballooned this week, because of some additional debugging info in the logs, to 4.3GB, filling up the disk. Fixed now, but if you see any problems (blank pages and such) do let me know.

Oh. That must have been the reason why the site was so unresponsive, about 5 hours ago. It seems to be better now.
