Today is my first day in my office, and it's a little unnerving. It's not because the walls are bare until I get framed blowups of Quinn reading O'Reilly books. It's not that the desk surface is lower than the work surface in the cubicle whence I came. It's not even that it's yet another reminder that this whole "manager" thing is the real deal, and I'm leaving a big part of programmer life behind.
No, it's that everyone looks in my office as they walk by. It's kind of like being in a zoo.
