It could be telling that they see a lot of job postings desiring "Perl/CGI" skills.

If I put on my resume that I have over five years experience developing Mason applications...
I'd be looked over for not knowing Perl, or CGI.
Not even the people I program for know the difference... or similarities.
Life would be sooooo much better if you knew for sure the person reading the paper could actually understand what it says...

I always put both down since I got bored of telling agents that one implied the other.
