I love it when I envision a big infrastructure that will be a key component for the project I'm working on, and then finding that someone else has already written it for me.
Count me among its many fans.
You should also check out Log4perl. It builds on Log::Dispatch to do for Perl what Log4j does for Java. There are some rough edges, but it's worked very well for me on many large projects.

I was also impressed by Log::Log4perl and began to adopt it. I haven't yet gotten over the hurdle of it's overflowing documentation and feature set, though. It still feels like it's more work than it should be when I use it. I believe some more pointed examples would be very helpful for me....and I'm curious of Andy's impression of it as well.:)
