Figured out that I was not running slashd. Started slashd with arg 'xxxxxx' this is apparently the "username" for DBIx::Password. I could not figure out where the files containing acct info for DBIx::Password are stored. This fixed problem with missing comment count and added topic icons to top of page.
Did not manage to get /etc/init.d/slash script working. Not sure what format of /usr/local/slash/slash-sites config file is supposed to be.
Question of the day: Does anyone use Slashcode anymore or has everyone switched to php based bulletin boards? slashcode.com> seems to be dead and

I find this site quite good.
I have set up a small slash installation. I started changing the templates to get rid of the tables and introduce some CSS goodness and then discovered how big a job that was. I'm kind of stalled on that project.

Depends on what you think is “good”, but this one has been Slash-based for a long time and is very active indeed.

I remember looking at that site a year or so ago, but I never realized it was slashcode based.
