I'm sure I started this off wanting to set up a perlmongers group for NW UK (Liverpool, Manchester area)... and I've ended up helping to start a Java User Group instead. (Heresy!)
Of course that's largely because I came across Liverpool resident Mark Hobson's cunning plan to set up a Java group. Somehow it seems to be easier to slipstream on the back of other people's projects than to get your own rolling.
