New Israel.pm website look

http://www.perl.org.il/ has a new look, courtesy of a template downloaded from OSWD.org and the wonderful HTML::Template module.

In addition, the site sources are under subversion, so that anyone can download and use them. Instructions are in the About page.

Recently someone posted in his Journal a rant about Perl websites: http://use.perl.org/user/TeeJay/journal/21055

I believe the new Israel.pm site shows that things can be different, even for "one man shows" sites. Israel.pm: 1. Is standards complient. 2. Nice looking, but not too flashy. 3. Is based on HTML::Template, so is easy to maintain. 4. Uses subversion to handle the site sources, so it is easy to send patches.

I agree that for large sites, such as perldoc.com, 1 or even just 2 people are not enough. But for the site of local Perl Mongers group, a perl based templating solution should be workable.

If you think differently, please comment below. Or send a patch :-)
