Remember, remember, the 5th of November
Well, it's a bit hard to forget, what with WWIII going on (well, off) all around. Fireworks for almost 6 hours now. And tomorrow I see some friends from Lewes and get to find out whom they burnt there[*] tonight.
I went round to my parents and we had a bonfire. It's ages since I've had a good bonfire. It was mostly garden waste, and made a good deal of steam in between the periods of leaping flames. My parents' dog, Rocket, is most unhappy. Despite his name, he hates the things. The sooner it's all over, the better. Sticks are meant for chewing, not for gunpowder-powered flight.
* In effigy. Apparently it's out of fashion to burn the real thing. Global warming, or something like that
