Perl on Zaurus

Hey it works. I actually get a reaction from Perl on the Zaurus. It warns me about something to do with localization, but in principle it works.

So I think some tweaking is needed, as well as getting vi to save something (it is not very amusing to write something and then not being able to save it). In the mean time I still can write some perl on my desktop box, and sync it.

I consider to buy a Zaurus, too. This machine seems to be pretty cool. Currently I use a Psion 5mx as my main PDA because I need it as a travel type-writer.

Anyway, I wonder wether vi as a editor is a good choice. Don't missunderstand me, I would love to hear that vi rocks on a Zaurus, but the small keyboard and GUI centered OS make it hard to believe.

Actually the keyboard is good as a thumbs keyboard, but I also successfully tried typing with one hand using all 5 fingers.

I wrote a small html file yesterday, using the handwriting recognition on vi - that also worked fine. And of course vi is cool when you SSH into the Zaurus.
