This week we visited the other themepark run by a clown with big ears, the worlds largest turkey farm, or the Capitol of the Free(trade) World. Lots of good things to see at The Smithsonian Institution museums, The National Archives, and the monuments. Of special interest was ham radio station NN3SI in the American History's Information Age exhibit, which also included a Babbage-design difference-engine that actually succeeded in producing error-free math tables. To keep the family in touch, we (all being A.R.S. licensed) used the K3VOA repeater on the Mall, sponsored by the VOA employees radio club, which is tourist-friendly -- thanks!
Saw a poster for ParisOnThePotomac.org on the Metro, but many exhibits don't start til next week. Other posters "Yes, we're all fascinated by what you're having for supper" and a picture of a cockroach as explanation of the riders they don't want on the no eating/drinking signs.
