[M] ...so I was reading this messed up story in the Book of Enoch, from the Apocrypha...
[K] Heh. Enoch.
[M] What?
[K] It's only one letter away from "eunuch".
[M] No it's not; it's one changed and one added. E-N-O-C-H; E-U-N-U-C-H.
[K] (Looking smug) I meant in IPA.

A bit of the first, a bit of (trying for) the latter. The two words are almost identical save for their initial vowel sounds -- in a
Southeastern USian accent. The second syllables of both words come out as something very closely approximating "nihk".
The rest was humor and a desire to have the last word:) Re:Hmm

Okay, but in IPA the initial vowels sound of either word (especially "eunuch") would have more than one letter (juwversusij, or whatever), so the difference would still be more than one letter.</pedantry>
