happy birthday to meeee

Not quite actually my b-day yet, but I went ahead and bought myself one of these (very sfw).

The kitchen here is large, but very poorly designed. There's almost no usable counterspace, and what there is is 10 feet from the oven/cooktop/sink work triangle (which, astonishingly, are actually close to each other). This is the first step towards making it suck less, so I can get back to enjoying cooking.

Okay, technically it's the second step, getting an oven and cooktop that aren't broken and/or lying in the floor is the first.

Eesh.

The Burden Of Kitchen-By-Afterthought

I, too, have to live with a kitchen that was clearly designed with only the requirement "there should be a stove, maybe".

I think me and the financial advisor are going to have to discuss whether that device is a reasonable purchase...
