Japanese Hot Dogs

K and I were just searching orkut for people to make fun of. One of the random people who turned up was a Japanese woman whose website consisted of nothing but reams of light-green-on-white text and some pictures of her lunches.

One of the pictures was of what we now believe to be a breaded chicken cutlet sandwich, viewed end-on (from the side) but my initial misidentification caused this:

ME: What's that, a Japanese hot dog? K: No, it's a sandwich. *pause* K: Heh. Japanese hot dog. Can you imagine what they'd put on there? ME+K: Mayonaise. ME: And cole slaw. K: And nori. ME: And wasabi. And it would be WRAPPED in nori. K: And the bun would be... ME: ...made of crusty French bread! K (holding hands 6 inches apart): And it'd be like this big around!

This probably isn't funny unless you've seen the results of the Japanification of Western foods. Oh well.
