Went to my first pm meeting tonight, and only the fourth for the group as a whole.
Talk about a unique experience -- I blathered on for 25 minutes about Asian languages and encodings thereof and how Unicode was a big win and the gotchas of dealing with Unicode that have come up in the development of kdict, and they CARED.
Seems like a great group of people all the way around. Everyone seems to be clueful, with enough diversity of interests and specializations to keep things interesting. The only thing I don't like is that meetings are *monthly* and this seems far too infrequent to allow the group to really do anything useful.
On a completely unrelated topic, Pork Fried Rice hamburger helper (technically "pork helper") isn't very good, and tastes nothing at all like pork fried rice. This is what I suspected, but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. It was interesting how the pre-fried, dehydrated rice looked like a cross between rice krispies and little tiny bones with syphillitic lesions.
