I'm working on getting Perl to talk to these telecom carrier grade answering machines. (We're talking 1200 simultaneous calls per rack with voice recording, emulation and recognition)
It took me a couple hours to get Inline::C to build on the custom Sparc board, but after that it's been a very rewarding experience.
