Sometimes I just lose my patience falling down the death spiral of Perl module upgrades. I just wanted XML::Simple on a Solaris box, but ended up upgrading E to get D to get C to get B to get A so that some optional feature of XML::Simple will pass 'make test'.
Just get the crowbar and force it in. See if it breaks.
