I was surprised to discover that the 2006 OS version of the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet now has perl:
Nokia770-26:~# perl -v
This is perl, v5.8.3 built for arm-linux-gnueabi-thread-multi
Copyright 1987-2003, Larry Wall
Perl may be copied only under the terms of either the Artistic License or the
GNU General Public License, which may be found in the Perl 5 source kit.
Complete documentation for Perl, including FAQ lists, should be found on
this system using `man perl' or `perldoc perl'. If you have access to the
Internet, point your browser at http://www.perl.com/, the Perl Home Page.

Nope. Nokia 770 != Series 60. The 770 is a linux webpad.Re:jarkko announced that

It's still a Nokia handset.....Without Jarkko, it's reasonably likely that it would never have gotten onto the phones at all, much less ported to the series 60. It may be linux, but that doesn't mean that some poor asshole(s) inside Nokia doesn't have to do due diligence on each and every package for licensing and, as I recall, there were some problems way back when with the perl artistic license.
<sigh/> But I think I made the right decision, cuz the 770 really needs a camera!
