pxperl

I've just downloaded and installed pxperl, as well as mingw, msys etc.

It looks impressive. Now I am curious why I haven't heard more about it. The PXPerl download seems to include lots of modules and other fancy stuff, including parrot and pugs, and invitingly a Hello World example for pugs in the intro:

pugs -e "'Hello from Perl 6!'.say"

And, just so I don't forget:
find_doc /intro

PXPerl

I have tried it and like the idea of it as it opens up CPAN to Windows users. However, I had problems with a couple of modules that I have to have that wouldn't install (DBD::Oracle being the major one).

And quite a major one if you are a Oracle user.

Fortunately for me I'm not, but it does highlight the need for support. It also makes me wonder how many people are running what flavour of perl for windows?
