Just got back from the Seattle Perl User Group meeting. Autrijus gave a great talk on PAR. PAR is one of those modules that I had thought might be cool; now I know it is. Many thanks Autrijus for his hard work.
If you don't know, PAR is a package that makes it easy to make your perl programs work on a large number of platforms regardless of module dependencies or platform (unix vs. windows etc..).
