You know you're in for a ride when your textbook starts with a howler like this:
The amount of information available to us is literally exploding, ...This abysmal textbook is literally giving me a headache.
Tech writing does bear a faint resemblance to English sometimes.

That reminds me of a particularly loathsome CS textbook my high school used. My "favorite" part was the sidebar on how written communication is an important skill for programmers. On the facing page, as part of the problems at the end of the chapter, there was one question that was impossible to parse as English. I believe it was missing a verb.
