I finally received a contract today
It was with some dismay I read through it
It will simply not stand
The terms are horrid and the price is below market

It can be scary to walk out, but when an org (or person) is trying to abuse you, standing up for yourself is the best response. Ok, so you may lose the opportunity for some income, but that doesn't matter. What matters is the gain in self-respect.
