I have finally gotten access to all the resources I need to start on the documentation project I have been hired. I have refined my work document with a better POD template. I found out I violated my own policy, by specifying versioning in all modules. The project defines no code must be changed. Only documentation can be added (below __END__).
Well anyway, I have gotten started. I will update my work document and add an estimate, so I can see when I need to be finished etc. I think they estimated 3 months for documentation, which sound reasonable for 69 scripts/modules, document deliverables and all the loose ends.
But I have one minor problem, I have still no contract. I know this client so this will work out eventually, but what annoys me are these kind of employments. The earlier your start the better...", We need your commitment ASAP, but when it comes to responding to your CV and prior communications and getting the contract in place, things slow down to a halt.
This will not be a problem and I will continue work, but if nothing has happened by the end of the month I send them an invoice.
