Running the coastline trip went better than expected, the pace however fell quite a lot to 5 minutes 42 seconds/km. - this must have to do with the many steep inclinations.
When running uphill I take shorter steps in order to keep the rhythm and pulse, this make the pace fall and when I run downhill I break the run not to fall or continue into rocks or bushes - some of the downhill trips are on natural stairs, which really punch the air out of your longs when not in good shape.
I used to run this trip in 21-22 minutes, not doing short steps on the uphill parts, so it resembled more of a sprint and jumping when going downhill, but it felt easier to pick up speed, where now I feel totally mashed when I have to pick up speed again.
The route was however shorter than the 5 km I had been told, the route 4.59 km and I did it in 26 minutes 12 seconds.
The next trip will be tomorrow, same route - I am thinking about running the highway out and the coastline back, to see whether this matches the 5 km I was told the trip was.
But lets see tomorrow...
