I did not leave Birmingham until saturday morning. I had a brief talk with Domm in the foyer - and I might be sponsoring lanyards for the next YACP::Europe.
The rest from the batch of 500 will probably be used for the NPW 2007 in Copenhagen.
I attempted to recapture some of the stuff I picked up at the conference.
I might have forgotten a lot but here are some of the points:
- Getopt::Long is the recommended Getopt::* module (ref: http://www.birmingham2006.com/cgi-bin/yapc.pl?act=talk-item&talkid=57>)
- DBIx::DataModel, seems like a cool alternative to some of the other ORMs it's focus seem to be on the relationships between tables, which is a nice perspective, because this is the interesting part when talking about RDBMS' (ref: ) li>
- KinoSearch seems to be the most effective search module on CPAN (ref: and )
If you care to share your redux of CPAN, please feel free to comment on this journal entry.
Good to be back home, my son was supposed to be napping when I got home, but instead he was standing up in his bed calling for me, that made me really happy to be back home, I guess YAPC::Europe 2007 in Vienna will be tough since I will have to leave two kids behind.
