Over the weekend I backed-up my new PowerBook and reinstalled the OS as requested by the support people from the place where I bought it.
I am not working on my TiBook but I have booted the PowerBook and am am llistening to a music stream from it, at the same time I have opened several applications and I hope the problem will show itself.
I had to finish some work yesterday so apart from the software installed with the OS, I only installed gVim and its CVS and Perl plugins.
I considered opening a website (http://lookattheerrormessage.com/) due to the information I got from the support people: please update your software
Since everything had been updated via OSX's own software updater I guess the where meaning the warning issued by desktop manager which apparently uses a soon-to-be deprecated API and therefor issues warnings in the logs.
I am using Desktopmananger on my TiBook running Tiger and my friend Casper uses it on his PowerBook also running Tiger without problems.
This is what I could filter out from my lastlog:
jonasbn console localhost Sun Feb 5 09:09 - crash (10:53)
jonasbn console jonas-b-nielsens Sun Feb 5 08:25 - crash (00:44)
jonasbn console jonas-b-nielsens Sat Feb 4 22:43 - crash (00:33)
jonasbn console jonas-b-nielsens Sat Feb 4 22:17 - crash (00:26)
So nothing to do but wait for the next breakdown - and then I will be returning the machine.
