OS X software updater contained a Aluminum PowerBook (15-inch) Battery Update and guess what, now my battery started working.
I still have not heard anything from Apple support. If these guys knew this fix was on the way, why did they not just say so - I am a patient person.
I am not mistaken the battery will probably show up tomorrow.
