Sexy?

Argh,

A guy I met at the YAPC::Europe in Belfast demoed Knoppix at the pub one afternoon. Well he demoed the sexy female voice being a part of the startup proces - I just downloaded Knoppix, but I do not hear any sexy female voice? - does anybody know where it went?

I should have asked Mr. Knopper when I had the chance

Anyway knoppix seems quite cool, anyway FreeBSD 5.3 is out and I downloaded an ISO and burned the CD so I can get on with my hosting project... apparently we need the latest due to a SATA controller...

I've got

those files, as ogg and wav files. I got them off of a knoppix CD a year or so ago, and converted them to wavs to use them on my work windows machine.

Assuming I'm not going to break any copyright laws, is there somewhere you would like me to email them to you?

The wavs are about 350k, the oggs about 22k.
Dave

Then, I just saw on a google link:

Klaus Knopper wrote:

The startup/shutdown sound files are from a GPL Mandrake package called "space sounds", and present at /usr/share/sounds/{startup,shutdown}.ogg

So you might want to start there.

Hey,

I found them, all I actually wanted to do was to hear them - but know I even have the files... thanks :)
