I have uploaded Module::Info::File to CPAN. It is a subclass of Mattia Barbon's Module::Info implementing the stuff I need for my script version.pl (included in the Module::Info::File distribution).
The idea of inheriting from the Module::Info module was inspired by Mark-Jason Dominus talk at YAPC::Europe in Paris this year.
The module is small and simple, but I am happy to have it released, then I can focus on other stuff :)
