A lot of Perl related stuff has happened this weekend for my sake.
I wrote up a brief TODO list for what I need to do before going on vacation. In a week I will be leaving for Bornholm for two weeks, followed by a trip to Paris for the YAPC::Europe 2003.
I will bring my laptop to Bornholm as I always do, but since I only can use a dial-up connection from there I will probably only be reading mail (maybe updating my journal). So I expect to do some programming.
- Test new dial-up account
- Respond to mail about YAPC::Europe 2004 (by mid-July)
- Send mail to all attendees of the SPW
I am also lining up a few programming projects, which need my attention:
- Games::Bingo 0.06 (the TODO list is long)
- Games::Bingo::Bot 0.02 (we did a test yesterday)
- Metrics::LOC (pre-release, need additional work, I am not completely satisfied with the architecture)
- XML::Conf 0.03 (I need to finalize the docs)
- Tie::DeepTied 0.01 (docs and tests)
- POE::Component::IRC::Simple (an idea)
The Tie::DeepTied module has been separated out from Ariel Brosch's HTPL, maybe a cleanup release of HTPL is in order, these releases will probably not be made before after YAPC::Europe, where I have the opportunity of meeting Gabor Szabo and discussing the future of some of Ariel Brosch's modules.
We did a test of the Games::Bingo::Bot in the Copenhagen Perl Mongers channel on IRC (#cph.pm), well I had to fix a few minor things. But at the sametime I reconsidered separating the IRC part into a module, maybe it should be called POE::Component::IRC::Simple - I don't know.
Metrics::LOC ('Metrics Lines of Code') is a rewrite of my Codebase module (not available on CPAN - yet), the Codebase name will be used for something else related though, more on this later.
I also have accumulated a list of things I want to do which is not programming:
- Write article on SPW (for pm.org?)
- Write article on CamelBones (actually the base for my lightning talk at YAPC::Europe 2003)
The Copenhagen Perl Mongers are finally having a meeting (thursday this week), this is actually our first meeting after the Scandinavian Perl Workshop.
So I have a lot of stuff to do and I will not be bored - which is good. 'Intelligent people are never bored', I seem to be able to accumulate so much to do so I appear intelligent -smart isn't it :)
